I got my ipod in the mail yesterday.. it was supposed to come wednesday but the FedEx guy didnt bother to stop at the apartment office to deliver it, he only went to my door and of course I was at work. AAAnyway, I went and picked it up, brought it to work, jailbroke it, charged it, and installed all kinds of goodies.. then i went home and tried to use itunes on my 64bit windows xp install.. unfortunately they support 32bit XP, or 64bit Vista.. so no dice. no worries, because libgpod and gtkpod are to the rescue. I was able to put a bunch of songs on the device, and thanks to musicbrainz, they're all labeled consistently and correctly.



Oh yeah since the ipod touch has wifi, i got a last.fm account, and installed the app that uses it.. so now whenever i have internets available, i can listen to streaming radio of music that doesn't suck.

I can't believe you only bought one....that's just selfish. (useless post just wanted to see my new avatar -- which is messed up..changing now)



btw, my current credit card statement has ended, so I guess i'll have to make the purchase now...*sigh* I'm doing my part to stimulate the economy



if I had a friend that would happen to be available as a wingman to purchase such ipod, i would probably get it tonight.

I'm thinking about buying an iTouch myself, but I need to save monies for the house. Plus I haven't received my wallet dildo from good old Bush yet, but they were kind enough to take the $600 I owed the day after I filed. Assuming I get the check, I might put it in a zip lock bag and hang it inside my toilet tank just to spite them.

blackra1n might make the $10 firmware upgrade worth it. My coworker says it took 30secs to jailbreak. It's only available for windows and mac, but you'll find it. Here's a basic guide. I'm testing it out tonight, so I'll let you know if I have any issues. w00t!

oh yah btw i joined the iphone revolution this weekend w/my brand new and beautiful iPhone 3GS 16gig. i dont think i've made eye contact with another human being this week. just iContact HAH

one of beth's coworkers bought an ipod touch not too long ago and just decided to get an iphone now and wants to sell the touch. he's asking $100, i believe its a 3rd gen 8 GB which appears to retail for about $200. thoughts?
