They accepted my prior master's degree. Instead of having to take all of the normal core courses and then a prelim exam, I can go straight to the dissertation, basically.

so, i don't get promotions, but i get raises. and i got the biggest raise i've ever gotten today: 6.18%!! good thing too, now i can get more for the house loan and use the higher salary to negotiate a higher offer for my new job. thanks cti!
